Félix Vallotton, Swiss/French painter

Félix Vallotton (1865 – 1925) was a Swiss/French painter.

He is part of what we called in France “Les Nabis”, a group of rebellious Post-Impressionist avant-garde artists.

Let’s say it’s the link, around 1890, between Impressionism & Gauguin (the colors!) and Art Nouveau & Symbolism : they ran, obviously, towards abstraction…

I love his freedom, his casualness, his “nerve”.
