(The Big Chill & Peter’s Friends to begin)

They were friends, they gather, they talk. Things burst. Disillusions. Memories. Mistakes. It’s a good subject, and I’d like to study the way writers treat this matter. Thus :

I had the idea to ask this question on a Facebook group page (“Cinema, mon amour”) then in another one (“The Empire Magazine Group”) and got a few answers. I present here the greatest ones (more than 7/10 on IMDB) :

 

The Big Chill (1983) : A group of seven former college friends gather for a weekend reunion at a South Carolina winter house after the funeral of one of their friends.

We All Loved Each Other So Much (1974) : Gianni, Nicola and Antonio become close friends in 1944 while fighting the Nazis. After the end of the war, full of illusions, they settle down. The movie is a the story of the life of these three idealists and how they deal with the inevitable disillusionments of life.

Peter’s Friends (1992) : Six former college friends, with two new friends, gather for a New Year’s Eve weekend reunion at a large English countryside manor after ten years to reminisce about the good times now long gone.

Career Girls (1997) : 2 young women reunite and rekindle their friendship after having said goodbye at their college graduation, six years earlier.

Return of the Secaucus Seven (1979) : Seven former college friends, along with a few new friends, gather for a weekend reunion at a summer house in New Hampshire to reminisce about the good old days, when they got arrested on the way to a protest in Washington, DC.

84 Charing Cross Road (1987) : True story of a transatlantic business correspondence about used books that developed into a close friendship.

We have many in France :

Le péril jeune (1994) : Ten years after their Upper Sixth, Bruno, Momo, Leon and Alain meet together in the waiting room of a maternity hospital. The father of the awaited baby is Tomasi, their best friend at that time, who died one month before due to an overdose. They remember their teenage, their laughs, their dreams, their stupid pranks… Through the pasts of the five main characters, a description of the French youth in the middle of the seventies.

Les petits mouchoirs (2010) : A near-fatal accident leaves one friend in the hospital while the rest go on their annual vacation. But their secrets and personal grief threaten to drive them apart.

Mes meilleurs copains (1989) : They are the best friends of the world. Five friends who shared everything: may 68, hippies years, the rock and their love for Bernadette. This Bernadette has left them to become a rock-star, and is back 15 years later for a weekend. Jean-Marie Poire describes with this movie the portrait of a generation with lots of humor served by excelent actors.

“Clean Mud” : Game of Thrones against Come and See

One should not compare these things!

Battle of the Bastards is the S06E09 of Game of Thrones, 2016, full of Awards and watched by almost 8 millions people on HBO the first day. There are spoilers here so beware.

Come and See is 142 minutes 1985 Soviet “war drama” film about Nazi’s atrocities in Bielorussia.

One should not compare these! Therefore I do.

Drama, war, mud, enemies, and cruelty. In both films!

I don’t watch TV Series, but watched The GoT episode with a grin : actors are well hair styled, seem satisfied, the mud is pretty clean, and I’m pretty sure they have great dry warm underwear under their fur coats.

But with a smile, because I’m a guy and I loved 300 and Lord of the Rings and Gladiator, therefore I have fun like in front of a Video Game Trailer : wings of arrows, swords and flying blood, giants and other catapultings of balls of fire. Geronimo!

So : I watched this, afflicted by the obvious smugness of all these well fed actors, sorry to see Mr Snow falling in a trap exposing himself in the no man’s land, facepalming with the happy cavalry charge at the end – which saves the day (I waited the John Ford bugle call but they didn’t dare).

I noticed the esthetics efforts : views from the sky, slow motions, silhouettes, walls of shields, but I couldn’t stop imagining this battle led with real mud/dirt, good actors, some Bisleyic exaggerations, or showing how horrible is that kind of battle. If was like made for teens, right? I’m probably too old for this. Probably I forget it’s from a heroic fantasy book.

Oh, I didn’t talk about “Come and See”. I won’t, it’s too much. I just put a photograph.

Should we know about the Masters?

I heard about an old French movies critic who was wondering about the fact that many cinema enthusiasts where like stuck in their time, knowing nothing about the Masters of the past.

That’s a good question, right?

It’s the same for other Arts. You can be a good photographer without knowing much about big photographers or movements in the 70s, or in the 50s, the 20s, whatever.

I do ask myself though. Who are the masters? What did they bring? What can we learn from them?

I do think it’s not really a problem, though. In Cinema, you can enjoy Nolan without knowing Kubrick, you can watch The Sopranos without knowing anything about Coppola’s The Godfather.

It’s a “me” thing, I beg.

It’s because I think that the main string in Art’s harp is this question :

“What newness is brought, here?”

Novelty is pulsing along the long course of human creativity. This is what I seek. As Zola says before Manet : “What I seek before all else in a painting is a man, not a painting.”

For example I love Stephen Shore‘s photographies, but I also love he’s a thinker, that he says that a photography has to be “solved”. I love to know what were his… concerns, and how he tried to find solutions, etc…

I’d say this is a trait. Thinkers. They like to do things with passion, but they also like to think about it, about the links with other arts, other eras, other times. Links. Links. Links. What grows. What dies. What moved, or rotated. Links. Links. Links. Words and analysis…

I like to know who are the Masters of the past, and who they were, how they were working, what they discovered and shared. Not necessarily to try to be better, my, oh no.

Just to have a map of the ground I’m walking on.

A cinematographer or director of photography is the chief over the camera and light crews working on a film and is responsible for making artistic & technical decisions related to the imageWikipedia

Usually, people don’t notice their work, unless image is really gorgeous or risky.

I like when a cinematographer pushes a lever a bit far, like the use of real black as absence of light : not to frighten you, but to cut out the image. Here two images from Blade Runner, one from All the President’s Men and one from Manhattan.

I’m reading a lot about Manet, and talked about it with a Art teacher, who replied immediately : “Oh, blacks in Manet!”.

Then, well, I just bought a book from a master of photography and color, Harry Gruyaert…

A student (in photography) was in awe in front of this work, amazed by how he pushes the dark tones, and told me that if she did that her professors would kill her :

Err, well, voilà. So what I don’t know. I think I love this pattern.

Of course, it’s STRANGEIZATION. When you bend an element, when you add something noticeable to make the audience “aware of the form”, which is modern and interesting, right?

Spending a day with a movie

I read an interview of Vittorio Sorraro, who is a cinematographer (the guy responsible of cameras, light, image, in a movie).

Thus I discovered that this guy worked on Apocalypse Now & One From the Heart (Coppola), Reds (Beatty) and 1900 (Bertolucci).

All these films titles, this list, jumped on me. They are all of the same type : you could spend a whole day around these movies.

Apocalypse Now is based on a Conrad novel. There’s a “Redux” (which means “brought back”) version which is a masterpiece. You’ll also find a documentary about the shooting, made by Coppola’s wife. You’ll find plenty of interviews about this craziness on the web and in books. Etc.

I saw One From the Heart just a few years ago in Blu-ray. I was awaiting an über-artificial bad movie and I found it very touching. All around is fake (everything’s done in studios) with the will to appear a decoy. Yes, it’s like Manet and his brush strokes, remember?

Reds is so underrated. Beatty won the Best Director Academy Award, but everybody seems to have forgotten this fabulous and mature film.

This could have been about big big movies like Lawrence of Arabia, Zhivago or Ran, but it’s not. Some little movies are so enthralling that… you will spend days exploring the maturity, the complexity of them. OK I add one : The Sheltering Sky.

Accusation of “Liking Incomprehensible Superiorities”

ONE

Well yes I’m currently watching Justice League. I will need three evenings to do that, because it’s really bad. It’s… an off-beat pleasure. In this area of superhero movies, I often have fun to discover the “evil character” and how he (or she) is a mess. In this movie, the horned giant has to bring 3 cubes together to have a big power (to destroy Earth, or whatever).

Yes, it’s THAT bad.

One great fun is to imagine how impossible it must have been for Gal Gadot (who plays Wonder Woman – she studied law and international relations) or Ben Affleck (who’s been in Cambridge) to do this :

  • Batman: [Parademon about to attack him] Son of a bitch!
  • Wonder Woman: AHH

Voilà. I need to make an effort, but well…

I also noticed the ironic audience-elbowing geeky lines told by The Flash (“It’s like Pet Cemetery!”), yeyyy.

I ask Urban Dictionary what a Snob is, to be sure :

  • Anyone who thinks they are better than someone else based upon superficial factors.
  • A snob is someone who thinks they’ve got better taste than others in most things; especially in music, film and books. Snobs of this kind, frown upon bestsellers, blockbusters, and pop music. They regard themselves intellectuals and think of people who follow the crowd as philistines.

Well, what happens when they’re NOT superficial factors?

I read this morning in my Manet‘s biography great critic’s texts about 1870’s Salon (one is from Castagnary, the other from Duranty – those guys really impressed me). They were disliking Manet’s work, but it was delightful to read how they expressed it. Duranty says Manet has the talent and doesn’t use it properly (that’s this opinion).

In front of the public, “We don’t know any more how to defend ourselves before this accusation to “love the incomprehensible superiorities””.

Before Justice League, I watched a funny little French film (“Main dans la Main“, find it it’s silly good!), and before this The Rite, an Ingmar Bergman movie, yes it’s in Swedish and in black and white and it’s excessive and dark and artificial and great and pretty toxic.

I needed 3 evenings to watch it, too.

We don’t know any more how to defend ourselves before this accusation to “love the incomprehensible superiorities”” talks to me, and I gave up (defending) a long time ago. Manet or Bergman, this is a lonely on-my-island thing (but I blog about it, OK). I don’t want to sound a snob (and I’m sure I’m one, in some people’s mind).

And it works the other way round! If I talk about Puccini or the pleasure of XIXth paintings with a scholar, I certainly don’t talk about the links about irony I find between Thor Ragnarok and the idea of irony in Arts I read in Baudelaire’s work. I don’t want to sound an idiot either

The Source of Stress in Spielberg’s “War of the Worlds”

“War of the Worlds” is a stressful film, so I searched, and found Spielberg used a pattern.

I’d like to ask him (or the scenarist), but here’s how he does to make us nervous :

He provides a protection against something, then destroys it.

Continuously, all along the movie.

The little key is provided by the daughter, who has asthma and uses a symbolic “bubble” with her arms. Her brother knows this trick and uses it with her to help her cope with worry.

  1. The father (protection) is not a good father and doesn’t know how to deal with kids (which happens all the time in Spielberg’s movies). This divorced man has nothing ready, nothing in the fridge, etc, to welcome his kids.
  2. Knowledge (lightning never hits the same place twice) doesn’t work.
  3. Cruise runs and hides IN a store to escape killing rays, to see people vaporized just next to him.
  4. The house where they hide in the night (basement) is destroyed by the events outside (plane crash), and there’s a great picture of Cruise climbing the stairs, coming into the living room – and feels the wind in his hair : there’s no roof on the house anymore…
  5. The car which is a bubble and a way to escape is destroyed (windows) and invaded by a crowd, and they have to let it go.
  6. The family they know (and could be an ally to deal with events) is separated from them near the boat.
  7. Symbols like when the daughter has to pee, goes in an idyllic field in a splendid light near a quiet river… flooded with dead bodies.
  8. The shelter provided for Cruise and his daughter is visited by the ETs and provided by a dangerous fool (Tim Robbins).

 

Tool :

Well, this little tool is something I like in the process of “how to write” (a story, a novel, a movie). Find a little pattern which could be used a a seed to find ideas.

Here : Intrusion.Which is a fractal way to play with a story, right?

Deliverance & Archetypes

I’m reading a book from John Boorman, English director known for Excalibur or The Emerald Forest.

Deliverance is a survival movie, a very disturbing piece of. Here’s the plot I found on IMDB :

On a weekend canoeing trip down a river in the Georgia back country, four urban businessmen enter a nightmare in which both nature and mankind conspire to send them through a crucible of danger and degradation in which their lives and perhaps even their souls are put at horrendous risk.

I had a friend a long time ago who explained me the beginning of the movie after he assisted a masterclass about it. What I found in the book confirms it, and goes even further. Here we go :

The four guys are obviously Archetypes, and Boorman says that they’re all a part of the novel writer.

  1. Drew is clever, an introvert, scrupulous and gentle.
  2. Lewis is mister muscle and macho, taking decisions and full of contempt.
  3. Bobby is the fat guy, trying jokes all the time, not at ease with anything.
  4. Ed is timorous. He’s the guitar player and wears spectacles. The artist, the idealist.

 

Of course, the movie is pushing all these men into turmoil. Of course, the “men living in the forest” are not impressed at all by the city boys, and will become aggressive. Of course, mother nature is not spread all around for the pleasure of smart-asses from the city, the river is unintelligible and dangerous. And of course, macho man won’t handle this situation at all (and other lessons you’ll discover if you watch this disturbing movie).

 

I have much pleasure reading the book, because Boorman explains that the actors were also like Archetypes. Voight was really always thinking and full of doubts, and Reynolds acting directly, finding his role in “action”. And, says Boorman, helping Voight to use his instincts instead of his strong brain.

 

Tools :

Archetypes. They are always accurate to watch people, right? Astrology or MBTI too (but aren’t they archetypes, in a way?). You can also think about patterns you find in people. Personality traits. It helps to understand, to take a picture of a group.

BUT

It also shows a lesson : human beings are full of surprises. Full of “as ifs”. They lie to themselves. They don’t act accordingly. And in action, they can evolve… amazingly!

Maybe one lesson of life is to see that Archetypes don’t work.

“Don’t lose your inner child” seems a splendid advice. The spirit of childhood is almost a superpower!

Everybody understands that : the capacity to marvel, curiosity, a genuine sense of happiness, love of simple things, ability to lose yourself into an activity, gathering ideas like shells…

I hope you kept it. And if you don’t, your own children can show you : you just have to watch them play, together or alone, 100% focused…

TWO

But there’s a difference between keeping your inner child and… staying a child in your head. Refusing to be an adult. Fleeing responsibilities. Bottle-feeding mainstream teen medias, which makes you an obedient larva…

You’ll be a perfect consumer!

 

THREE

Don’t lose your inner child, AND grow up as an adult, using this spark in your eye. From time to time :

  1. Explore Arts you don’t know
  2. Stay away from mainstream entertainment
  3. Be autonomous in your search
  4. Stop “reacting” to medias all the time
  5. Let your “cultural comfort zone” behind
  6. Study and draw maps about what you’ll explore
  7. Draw your own path
  8. Try adult things

 

– Yes, but I wanna watch Thor!
– OK, but tomorrow, it’s Tarkovky.
– Okey! Can we read some Garfield in bed?
– Nope : we go on with this Manet biography.
– Pffffffffff…

(Yes, it was a dialog between me and myself. Yes I watched Thor yesterday, and Stalker today. So there!)

STALKER is a treasure: an invitation to go on a mental ride with a poet and philosopher. A film that makes you wonder more about yourself yet without making you anxious. The few existing films like STALKER are the reason why cinema is called “art”! (IMDB comment)

 

 

To be better elsewhere, a Kubrick Tool

In a Stanley Kubrick interview yesterday I found a little tool for you.

Kubrick likes actors, and he needs them to be there, not to be puppets or reciting idiots.

That’s common sense, but he goes pretty far to get the actors out of their comfort zone.

One is to shoot scenes for hours, 20, 30 or more, to kill (or get) something.

For Full Metal Jacket, the terrible instructor at the beginning of the film had to yell his lines (plenty of horrible things, he says) to young rookies.

He didn’t want the guy to think about acting, but to BE that guy.

Thus he asked an assistant to work the text with the actor, for days, while playing basket ball.

Wait what?

If you “think” about what you say you cannot play anything. You can not do this. Therefore, the instructor had to know his text so well that he could do anything while he was screaming at the young recruits…

Voilà.

The tool is this little pattern : what could YOU do with that?

How and where and when would you need to be annoyed by something else to gain effectiveness? What for? ? To write within a crowd? To keyboard your blog on the left hand only (to slow down)? Or paint with the wrong hand? Or, as a French, to blog in English?

Pee-Poo Deadpool & Exasperating Frozen Songs…

Remember Frozen? It was CRAZY. It was everywhere : the songs, the DVDs, the dolls and the Elsa toys. It was so crazy that at one point, people become to be bored and sarcastic about it. “Let it gohhhhhh”. Pfff…

Then I watched it and found it… just OK.

In another region of mainstream entertainment, I watched Deadpool one day and couldn’t go til the end, bored by casual murders, bad jokes & puns, plus an horrible feeling of smart-ass irony detection, as if I was a geek target all movie long.

In France we call this humor under the belt “pipi caca” (pee poo).

Soooo irreverent!!! Awwwee : therefore you saw cargos of people being so flattered to get Lord of the Rings or X-Men puns in Deadpool! Perfect to be a viral success, right? Parody! Irony! Teasers! Funny to be idiotic! Outrageous!

As they say in Wiki :

Reynolds worked closely with Fox domestic marketing chief to use the internet to their advantage and come up with cheaper, “Deadpool-based” ways to market the film.

Of course : targets! Moving cattle. Elbowing the audience… and… There’s a II. You don’t say!…

This morning I read a blog article written by the perfect target, who was really upset. The Frozen bored thing (“here we are with weeks of more terrible pee-poos from Deadpool – to elbow me”) mixed with the sentiment of being a part of a stock, of some cattle to move.

Let’s laugh with us! Deadpool II is stupidfunnier! Give money, we’re cool! Irony by the shovel! Laugh when I pun!

Well, this article is too long, and it’s not cool to talk about Deadpool (Marvel, therefore Disney) and Frozen (Disney – Hey wait a minute…).

Marketing is too be smart. Viral can work to move your cattle. BUT if you insist, if you are too long, you upset people. Upset people not good.

OK, you’re right, I should… Let it gohhhhhh…

Casting Imagination : “What do you need to see?”

“Let us leave pretty women to men with no imagination.”, said Proust. , a little quote that made me smile, thus I posted it in my last Chronicle.

 

Yesterday I found and read a Stanley Kubrick interview. He was told : “In all your castings choices, the most surprising is Ryan O’Neal in Barry Lyndon. Suddenly, everybody realized : “Oh, well : he’s a good actor”.”

And indeed, one needed imagination to cast O’Neal in this role. It’s so disturbing to see this Californian former boxer playing this 18th-century Irish opportunist! And the film is gorgeous.

I think of a similar pattern in another movie : when Visconti casted Burt Lancaster – former acrobat, pirate or cow-boy actor –  to play a Sicily Prince in The Leopard!

 

Proust, Kubrick, Visconti : it’s the story of imagination. And it’s probably a little tool, right?

If you have to hire people and build a team, do you pick “the best” from all logical reasons, or to you think it’d be cool or useful to have some… imagination?

This could lead to other articles, right? What brings someone who has no experience, or not in this “field”? Why would we need sometimes to look “not under the light”, but elsewhere too?

It becomes one question :

What do you need to see… to see that other people don’t see?

Chains of Movies Wandering

There are so many ways to choose a movie! As some say, Netflix‘s robots are clever enough to suggest you new movies you’d like. Good.

As I don’t really move with the times, I like to choose, therefore I don’t watch any “Channels”. So I build “chain of movies”.

This game says : choose a movie, then find any link to another movie which will be the next.

Some chains are obvious : same director, or same year. Those are easy (all Bergman’s movies, all 1961 movies, all Ava Gardner movies) but you quickly dead end, right?

Chose directors of photography – you can then talk or think about the light in the movies. Reading books, watching the bonuses… Culture.

One of my best travels : Adaptations of Tennessee Williams plays at the cinema (Entertainment made a page on this : http://ew.com/gallery/tennessee-williams-movies/ )

Increase freedom : invent a new link after each movie.

From the last Star Wars you can watch Looper (same director), or Paterson (Actor : Adam Driver). After Patterson, another Jarmusch : Only Lovers Left alive… Ending in Morocco… Hmmm?

Stay with an Actress a few movies long (Emily Blunt). Stop with Edge of Tomorrow. Appreciate the light (Dion Beebe is the Director of Photography). Therefore watch Collateral (double link: Tom Cruise), the great Memoirs of a Geisha (music composed by John Williams : great! – He’s old therefore you can explore the past : go to Sugarland Express).

Choose the composer, but also the State. Thus, you could spend a month watching movies happening is West Virginia or… Tuscany, right?

 

OK, t’was my game. It’s an artifice to discover movies you wouldn’t have thought of.

Mmhh… How to organize things to get lost on purpose… in order to discover newness. OK.

From “Looper” to “Star Wars VIII”

  1. Star Wars: The Last Jedi was directed by Rian Johnson (born in 1973). As I often like to chain the movies I watch with a link, I watched Looper… his previous film, the day after. Looper is a splendid Sci-Fi movie and I watched a long interview of Johnson in the bonuses. I discovered an adorable geek with a fast brain, capable of talking about Casablanca, Akira, who wrote, organized and directed the movie, which “delivers an uncommonly smart, bravely original blend of futuristic sci-fi and good old-fashioned action”, 93% on Rotten Tomatoes!
  2. I really respect and understand that the Star Wars teams wanted this guy, as they wanted Gareth Edwards (born 1975)  for Rogue One. Monsters was a haunting masterpiece (though very low budget), and his Godzilla was… really different.
  3. I have a third example : Joss Whedon. Smart father of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Firefly (then Serenity), a great “space western”. After Cabin in the Woods, he was swallowed by Marvel Studios, directing two huge Avengers movies.

 

OK, here’s the pattern : smart directors swallowed by huge systems to make the biggest blockbusters.

Could it be a special Peter Principle?

Did we lose the guys for good cinema? Why?

A little pattern in Star Wars VIII The Last Jedi (Spoilers!)

I watched the first Star Wars movies (IV) at 11 in 1977. Of course in awe!

When the “greatly anticipated” second trilogy began in 1999, I remember a splendid interview of George Lucas – criticized for writing and characters (oh Jar Jar Binks…) – who really blew a fuse, telling that he was not a god, that he did what he can, and that it was just a movie! It was really a “If you’re not satisfied with it, good to you!”. I loved that! I could imagine the pressure on his back…

Hardcore fans, people who really want to make a Jedi religion, plus the Internet, are like a boiling crowd. If a new Star Wars is too close of the beginning, it’s bad. If it’s too adventurous, it’s bad. Why so serious?

 

Yesterday I watched the new Star Wars (The Last Jedi), and I found a little pattern, a vector-motto. If you don’t want to be spoiled, don’t read the rest!

  1. Rey wants to be taught how to tame the Force, and Luke mocks her about what she “thinks she knows” about it.

“I wanna say come on let’s go just when I oughta say nix” – Oklahoma (the movie)

If I take a map of the United States of America, the heart of the country if obviously Kansas.

Oklahoma is under Kansas, this state with a stick on the upper left. It exists since… 1907. The name comes from the Indians.

Foot! Tonight I watched the musical film Oklahoma, 1955, adapted from a 1943 stage musical. The music comes from Richard Rodgers and the lyrics from Oscar Hammerstein (yeah, the guys who made The Sound of Music).

You have to accept it’s a musical, an innocent story (“In Oklahoma, several farmers, cowboys and a traveling salesman compete for the romantic favors of various local ladies”, says IMDB), with good songs, gorgeous skies and great “stylized western dancing”. So, in a way, it’s seems clean, light hearted and conservative. And you really don’t care that much about the characters, from transparent semi-idiots “pretty” girls to really dumb cow-boys.

In fact, the treasure of the film is Ado Annie, played by Gloria Grahame, who is a funny featherbrain who likes to kiss everyone who passes by. There are so many details along the movie that you quickly realize the movie is all about sex. There are songs (like this “I cain’t say no”) in which she “has the sex coming out of her eyes, right along with the innocence”. Many times during the movie I was like “How did they dare that in a family movie??”. And it’s constant.

The film happens when the state of Oklahoma is not in the union already. There are fights, but not with immigrants : between farmers with “their fences”, and cow-boys…

Today I watched it with plenty of fun. Sex lovers in Oklahoma : Yeepeeee!

And this music is taking modulation bends that I love!

Ze Post Poppins Blues & other “zooms in”

Mary Poppins & Teorema & My Uncle are three movies about a stranger who comes in a house, disturbs all systems, and at the end leaves the place in a mess of changes. It’s a little pattern in movies history, let’s call it the stranger/revealer. I googled the titles and spent a good time exploring this. Poppins is built on an invisible tree (she comes to “save the father”). The visitor in Teorema is a revealer/disturber – some say it’s God himself, or destiny. And Monsieur Hulot in My Uncle is just the happy French casualness and poetry messing with “modernity”, concrete and productivity.

You can enlarge it in clicking “Mysterious Visitor” in IMDB’s Plot Keywords, you’ll get plenty of, including horror movies.

But I’d prefer playing with the ZOOM today, restraining things to a more little aspect.

I wanted to write something about what happens AFTER Poppins and others. What could happen in movies, after the visit of a disturber. Struggles, changes, back to “normal”, chaos? It could be funny to imagine…

So my tool today becomes : biased Zoom in.

Choose a field, a structure, and choose to find or to study a little part of it, an unknown window, another entry, what happens before, or after. A strange zoom.

You can study resistance to change in hierarchies, but also “what if it was good?”, too. You can write about manipulators, but also about “what happens exactly when the narcissistic perv catches his prey”. You can spend months about mindfulness, but also and suddenly the contrary. How NOT to pay attention, and why.

So, well, the idea is to ZOOM IN on a field, with a deviant will, not in the center, with a bias of invention, generous wrongness, happy curiosity, to find something nobody had the idea to study before. Ideas. Seeds.
